Aside from bands that come into town to play, Huntsville has a variety of good Local Bands as well. Most bars in town serve as the local music venues, but there are one or two non-bar locations:

- The Stem and Stein. This wine cellar has a really great chocolate panini. It's located on County Line Road in Madison. The website menu button was broken, but there's a link to a scanned menu in the Take Out Menus section.

- Crossroads Music
- The Station. Bar and Grill off Madison Blvd.
- On weekends this bar is too loud to have a conversation in.
- Bar Food is acceptable, but nothing to visit for.
- Large back porch is typically quieter
- Olivia's (formerly Bobby G's) next to the Off Campus Bookstore off 72 near UAH.
- Olivia's is the only bar in town that has a table top shuffleboard game. Takes up half the room, and fun.
- Sports Page
- Karaoke Bar on south parkway near Weatherly Road. Typically lacking in decent beer, but it varies.
- The Voodoo Lounge (previously named Judge Crater's, and Tavern Under the Square)
- On the south side of Courthouse square. Relatively small.
- Philby's
- Neat bar with decent bands, but it's a little loud and they're pretending to be European. They have dartboards and no darts, but they do have pool tables (2) and the balls to go with them.
- The Kaffeeklatsch
- Another small bar downtown that occasionally has a band playing.
- The Nook
- Amazing beer selection

[edit] Good To Know
Some cities, such as Mobile, AL, have strange laws that may effect enjoyers of the nightlife. In Mobile's case, wearing high heels downtown is against the law.
Huntsville has no such laws, but every boyscout should know the state's Age of Consent
